I really was. And it was that simple, at least for a while. However, I had this nagging thought that came to me from time to time that I would become an artist someday—even though I didn’t draw or paint—even if it didn’t interest me much. It wasn’t until I could no longer play ball that I remembered my younger declaration that I would be an artist. And, that’s just how it turned out. Call it accident. Serendipity is how I see it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For me, painting is the process, life-changing experience each time. It is the teacher who gives a visual voice to those who would teach and change the world—as, ideally, painters don’t own the voice of their paintings; the audience does.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My intention is to speak to my audience through the silent language of paint, and to elicit a clear response that the viewer can own."&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Susan Purdy was born and raised in Newbury Park, CA a small city on the outskirts of Los Angeles.
