"I was a softball player. I really was. And it was that simple, at least for a while. However, I had this nagging thought that came to me from time to time that I would become an artist someday—even though I didn’t draw or paint—even if it didn’t interest me much. It wasn’t until I could no longer play ball that I remembered my younger declaration that I would be an artist. And, that’s just how it turned out. Call it accident. Serendipity is how I see it.

For me, painting is the process, life-changing experience each time. It is the teacher who gives a visual voice to those who would teach and change the world—as, ideally, painters don’t own the voice of their paintings; the audience does.

My intention is to speak to my audience through the silent language of paint, and to elicit a clear response that the viewer can own."
